This week’s podcast comes courtesy of a conversation I had, online, with a friend. He was talking about the genius planning behind Facebook and it made me pause and think long enough to refute it. Yes, Facebook is huge in size as far as members are concerned but right now it is struggling to grow its profits and as far as planning in its development is concerned, that is only apparent in hindsight.

Before you think I am singling Facebook out for criticism here I will add that the same goes for practically every successful service or product which has been world-changing in its impact. Take SMS, for example. Now one of the most successful and profitable services of cell phone companies everywhere SMS was never intended to be an end-user service. Originally engineers used it to communicate with each other between telephone towers when carrying out repairs and it was bundled with the cell phone services when they were made available to the public because there was so little extra functionality which could be offered at the time.

In this Online Marketing Help podcast we look at how a business can best deal with unexpected developments which can help it grow faster. Best-selling SEO and Social Media Marketing author, David Amerland, explains.
