If you want great results in business, focus on those who make it possible to achieve them.
Most businesses do the exact opposite. They start by outlining all the results they want to achieve and then exercise all their creativity in ways that will make their people do what they want.
This creates a push-pull dynamic within the business that siphons energy and attention away from what it should be doing to succeed.
To use an almost perfect analogy, when you have a rowing boat, it gets where it needs to faster when everyone pulling oar is in sync with the coxswain.
The world is changing. Not overnight and not all at once, but it is changing nevertheless. In my talks to corporate groups, CEOs, VPs and industry leaders I gleam insights of how this change is happening. What evidence exists. Why some things happen and not others and how we can best take advantage of it all to do better. In Observations I catalogue it all. Brief, to the point and open to discussion.
