“Just be honest with me. How do you like the new initiative?”
The “be honest” moment someone in power, charged with implementing an initiative and with targets to meet and shareholders to be accountable to, puts out there.
Honesty is the last thing they want. If things were going as planned they wouldn’t be asking for honesty. So when the “be honest with me” moment arrives, they are behind schedule, short of targets and looking desperately for a culprit to blame.
When honesty runs through an organization it’s like breathing. It helps it function without anyone noticing.
Is your business honest? Truly?
The world is changing. Not overnight and not all at once, but it is changing nevertheless. In my talks to corporate groups, CEOs, VPs and industry leaders I gleam insights of how this change is happening. What evidence exists. Why some things happen and not others and how we can best take advantage of it all to do better. In Observations I catalogue it all. Brief, to the point and open to discussion.
